Pub Patrons’ Car Parking

From 26th January 2026, the Automatic Number Plate Recognition system monitoring the pub car park will be active. The system will require patrons to enter their number plate on the tablet at the bar, which will allow free parking for a period of up to 24 hours.

The ANPR system is run by a private company, and they operate 24/7. The White House has negotiated with them to allow 2 grace periods of 30 minutes for the benefit of those requiring school drop-off and collections. There will be no requirement to register between the hours of 8.15-8.45 and 14.45-15.15 each week day.

It is the responsibility of car owners to remember to register, as the team are unable to add numbers retrospectively or waive charges. We will do our best to remind people when they arrive.

It is unfortunate that the White House is a victim of its location in some respects, meaning many people have used the car park when visiting the church or Park, and not visiting the pub, limiting its use for our actual customers. In these tough economic times it was a difficult choice to make, but an important one to keep the pub functioning as a centre of the village community.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding in this matter, and hope that the pub can continue to flourish with your support, into the future.
